Sustainability at Santa’s Hotels has gained further recognition, as the Green Key sustainability certificate recertification audits were successfully completed at five Santa’s Hotels properties during autumn 2025. The final property will be reaudited by the end of 2025.
The Green Key certificate was first awarded in 2024 to the following Santa’s Hotels:
• Santa’s Hotel Santa Claus
• Santa’s Igloos Arctic Circle
• Santa’s Resort & Spa Hotel Sani
• Santa’s Hotel Tunturi
• Santa’s Hotel Aurora
• Santa’s Hotel Rakka
The newly confirmed recertifications demonstrate the chain’s long-term commitment to responsible tourism and sustainable development.
“We are proud that our sustainability work is once again receiving international recognition this year. Maintaining the Green Key certificate requires continuous improvement and concrete actions, and this is an important part of the promise we make to our customers,” says Sanna Sandgren, CEO of Santa’s Hotels.
What does Green Key mean?
Green Key is one of the world’s leading sustainability certifications in the tourism sector. Its criteria are based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and include, among other things:
• reducing environmental impact
• increasing social benefits
• supporting the local economy
The certificate obliges companies to continuously develop their operations. The independent Green Key jury awards certificates based on regular on-site audits.
Santa’s Hotels’ commitment to the Green Key program reinforces that sustainability and sustainable development are central to the company’s operations – now and in the future.
