The Accessibility Index is based on comprehensive data collection, in which we assess the condition of the mobility, hearing, and visual environment of our properties. This assessment is an essential part of our commitment to accessibility and equality.

With the help of the index, we are able to identify areas for improvement and implement concrete enhancements that make our facilities more accessible for all user groups. Our goal is to continue improving accessibility and ensure that as many guests as possible can enjoy their hotel stay with ease.

On this page, you will find more information about the accessibility of our different destinations, as well as each location’s Accessibility Index.

Arrival

There is one accessible parking space in the parking area, located immediately next to the main entrance. The parking space meets the required dimensions (width 3.6 m, length 5 m) and is marked with an upright sign featuring the wheelchair symbol. There is space for drop-off traffic to stop directly in front of the main entrance.

There is a ramp at the main entrance. The ramp has a gentle slope, with an incline of no more than 8%. The handrail of the ramp is located on the right-hand side when ascending. The entrance doorway is at least 85 cm wide, and there is a 1,5cm threshold.

Indoor Areas

The main lobby houses the reception. The reception desk does not have a service desk hearing loop (induction loop). From the entrance, the service point is located on the right side of the lobby.

The building has multiple floors, all of which are accessible by elevator. The elevator cars measure at least 110 cm x 140 cm. All areas of the building can be reached step-free. There are no induction loops in the facilities.

The hotel has one accessible room, which is a double room. The doorway to the accessible room is at least 80 cm wide. On the doorway there is a 1,5cm threshold. The accessible room does not have motorized beds. The height of the bed is 50cm and the height of the free space under the bed is 9cm.

The bathroom door is at least 85 cm wide, and there are no thresholds higher than 2 cm. The bathroom provides at least a 150 cm turning circle for maneuvering with a mobility aid. There is at least 80 cm of free space to the right of the toilet for transfers. The toilet support rails are attached to the toilet seat structure. The toilet seat height is 45 cm The washbasin area does not have support rails.

A shower chair is available upon request. A wheelchair is available upon request.

There is an accessible toilet in the public areas. The door is at least 85 cm wide, and there are no thresholds higher than 2 cm. The space provides at least a 150 cm turning circle for maneuvering with a mobility aid. When facing the toilet from the doorway, there is at least 80 cm of free space on the right side of the toilet for transfers. The toilet support rails are attached to the toilet seat structure.

Arrival

There is no designated accessible parking space in the parking area, but the parking spaces are located immediately next to the main entrance and the accessible route leading to the entrance. There is space for drop-off traffic to stop directly in front of the main entrance. The yard is asphalted.

There is a ramp at the main entrance. The ramp is short and steeper than recommended, and it does not have handrails. The ramp is located at the other end of the hotel building from the entrance. The entrance doorway is at least 85 cm wide. There is a 10cm threshold at the main entrance doorway.

Indoor Areas

The main lobby has a reception desk. There is no service desk hearing loop (induction loop) at the reception. From the entrance, the reception is located directly ahead.

The building has several floors, all of which are accessible by elevator. The elevator car dimensions are at least 110 cm x 140 cm.

The hotel has four accessible rooms, all of which are double rooms. The doorway to an accessible room is at least 80 cm wide. The doorway has a 5 cm threshold. The rooms have a double bed and do not have motorized beds. The height of the bed is 55cm and the height of the free space under the bed is 25cm.

Arrival

There is no designated accessible parking space in the parking area, but the parking spaces are located immediately next to the main entrance. There is space for drop-off traffic to stop directly in front of the main entrance.

There is a 7.5 cm step on the route leading to the main entrance, and the building does not have a separate accessible entrance. The entrance doorway is 84 cm wide. The thresholds of the entrance doorways are 5.5cm (including a 3cm step) and 2.5cm high.

Indoor Areas

The main lobby has a reception desk. There is no service desk hearing loop (induction loop) at the reception. From the entrance, the reception is located on the left side of the lobby.

The reception and restaurant are one continuous area without separate thresholds. The floor of the reception-restaurant area is an uneven stone floor. When moving elsewhere in the building, there are thresholds at the doorways and the corridors are narrow.

The width of the bathroom doors in hotel rooms is generally 65cm, excluding room 209 where the width is 80cm. In glass igloos the width of the external door is 75cm, the interior door is 85cm and the bathroom door is 80cm.

Glass igloo number 226 has handrails around the toilet seat.

Accessible Toilet

There is an accessible toilet in the public areas. The doorways leading to the toilet are 75cm and 85cm wide. One doorway has a 5 cm threshold, and the other doorway is threshold-free. The space has a 120 cm turning circle for maneuvering with a mobility aid. When facing the toilet from the doorway, there is a transfer space of 80 cm on the right side of the toilet seat, but the washbasin reduces the depth of this space.

Aurora’s Accessibility Index: 35/100

Arrival

Parking is located in an underground parking garage, which does not have a designated accessible parking space. The door from the garage to the elevators can be opened with a door release button. The width of the doorway is 85 cm and the threshold height is 3 cm.

There is space for drop-off traffic to stop directly in front of the main entrance. There is a ramp at the main entrance, with a slope of 12.5%, which is steeper than current accessibility requirements. The ramp has a handrail on the right-hand side when ascending. The entrance doorway is at least 85 cm wide, and the entrance has no thresholds higher than 2 cm.

Indoor Areas

The main lobby has a reception desk. There is no service desk hearing loop (induction loop) at the reception. From the entrance, the service point is located directly ahead.

There is no designated accessible parking space in the parking area, but the parking spaces are located immediately next to the main entrance. There is space for drop-off traffic to stop near the main entrance.

From the pedestrian walkway, the route to the main entrance includes stairs, but by going through the parking area there is a gentle and even accessible route leading to the entrance.

There is a 12 cm threshold at the main entrance, and two separate portable ramps are available, located in the vestibule. The entrance doorway is at least 85 cm wide.

Indoor Areas

Check-in and reception services are located 600 meters away at Hotel Santa Claus.

The hotel does not have accessible rooms.

The elevator’s width is 80cm and depth is 149cm.

Accessible Toilet

There is no accessible toilet in the public areas.

The main entrance of the main building is at street level. The entrance doorway is at least 85 cm wide. The entrance has a threshold that is 4 cm high.

Indoor Areas

The main lobby of the main building has the reception desk. There is no service desk hearing loop (induction loop) at the reception. From the entrance, the reception is located immediately ahead on the right.

The width of the doorways in the igloos is 86 cm and the thresholds of the doorways are 6 cm high. The width of the doorways in the bathrooms in the igloos is 80 cm and there are no thresholds higher than 2 cm. There are no transfer spaces in the bathrooms at the edges of the toilet seat, and there is no free space designed for maneuvering with a mobility aid. The height of the toilet seat is 40 cm. If necessary, further information about the dimensions can be obtained directly from the hotel.

Accommodation is provided in the courtyard igloos, and no accessible igloos are available.
